The Mobile Clinic was purchased in September 2007 We can now reach the rural poor in the very remote regions and have ferried it from island to island The Mobile Clinic was fabricated in Cebu Philippines by Felix Taguiam at DECO Sales Inc. He contributed the bathroom, tinted the windows and painted the bus. The signage was contributed by Rick Burgess, owner of Coastline Signs in Aberdeen, Washington, USA

The mobile clinic was delivered to EyeCare WeCare in December 2007 here are pictures when we first got the "clinic on wheels"

Here we take it over the Famous Dalton Pass (4,000 Ft above sea level) it was fully loaded with all the supplies and instruments plus the 27 volunteers -- the other photo is inside the mobile clinic after the volunteers have taken a 26 hour ferry boat ride and a 14 hour trip on land to get to the venue in the Province of Quirino.

Here the clinic has to enter the venue traveling through a rice patty, the volunteers decided to get out of the bus to lighten it so it would not get struck. The volunteers walked to the venue. A gate was too narrow so we had to remove the gate, then cut down a tree dig out and then remove a mound of dirt in order to get it to the venue.

Here the mobile clinic has to wait for people to load a sugar cane truck and the other picture we have to wait for a herd of carabao to cross the road so we didn't put a dent in the mobile clinic

The mobile clinic is loaded on small ferry's to go from island to island to get to all points of the Philippines (7,107 islands) This is the beauty of the mobile clinic, it can access even the remote areas of the Philippines.

The mobile clinic can set up anywhere, like this venue in the middle of a road. We fired up the gasoline generator, put up pop up tents to register, take blood pressures, inter-ocular pressures, and dispended the eyeglasses under the pop up tents, the auto refractor, the slit lamp examination, the examination of the internal eye and the refraction and medical treatment is all done inside the mobile clinic.  Here are people wait outside the Mobile Clinic to be pre tested and examined.

Indigents have their eyes examined in the front part of the mobile clinic. to the left Dr. Bernardo is viewing the inside of the eye and on the right is Dr. Aung examining the outside of the eye with a bio microscope.

This is the vision clinic in the dr's examination portion of the bus with interpreter -recorder

We had to drive this road to get to these people to bring the vision of hope to them. This is the beauty of the mobile clinic.

The very back of the clinic has a large storage of the 50,000 pairs of eyeglasses it carries on each mission and on the right is the custom installed restroom (comfort room as it is know in the Philippines.
