72 Cataract Surgeries January 2013 LCIF Olongapo, Philippines. New Record Bausch + Lomb donating all the Intraocular lenses, the viscoelastics, the eye medications and surgery blades. This is the 6th consecutive mission that Bausch + Lomb supplied 100 IOL's, Alrex, Lotemax, Tobra/Dex, Tropicimide, Zylet, Opcon-A, Alaway and Sooth. SEE International supplied other surgery supplies. The sutures, Syringes, gloves, Lidocaine, Bupivicane, Alcaine, Trypan Blue, Nevanac, Ciloxan, eyepads, Transpore Tape and BSS tubing sets. The operating microscopes and surgery instrument plus surgery nurses were preformed by our partners "Resources for the Blind" (RBI). RBI also procured the Filipino Volunteer Ophthalmologists and the San Marcelino Hospital to volunteer a surgery room. The participating volunteer ophthalmologists were led by Dr. Arvin Antipolo, the other volunteer ophthalmologists included Dr. Gary Mariano, Dr. Candy Velasco, Dr. Pat Asio, Dr. Sweet Lerit and Dr. Juriz Jaunitez. The Volunteer Nurses from RBI were Maria Vitoria "Beng" Victorino and Christine Bernadette Hermogenez. Here are some of the many who benefited from this mission
58 Cataract surgeries during and following the May 28 - June 2,2012 mission in the Province of Laguna Bausch + Lomb donating all the Intraocular lenses, the viscoelastics, the eye medications and surgery blades. This is the 5th consecutive mission that Bausch + Lomb supplied the IOL's, medications and other surgery supplies. The sutures and ancillary surgery supplies for this mission were donated by Thelma Bose with the Cabuyao Pharmacy Association. The operating microscopes and surgery instrument plus surgery nurses were preformed by our partners "Resources for the Blind" (RBI)

The surgeries were preformed in this clinic in Calamba notice the operating microscopes provided by Resources for the Blind. These surgeries made a very large impact on the Province of Laguna, Philippines.

Cataract Surgeries Performed During the January 11 to 15, 2012 Medical Vision Mission in the Municipality of Cabarroguis, Province of Quirino, Philippines
Dr. Levi San Buenaventura from Manila, Dr. Leandro Jose G. Domalanta from Santiago city Isabela province and a third surgeon Dr. George Acson did the Cataract surgeries. -----Bausch & Lomb Foundation Donated to EyeCare WeCare Foundation 50 Inter Ocular Lenses, Eye Medications and Supplies for 50 Surgeries used during this mission. This was the 4 consecutive mission that Bausch & Lomb has supplied medications and cataract surgery supplies.
The surgeries were done in the Cabarroguis Hospital on January 13-14, 2012 during EyeCare WeCare medical vision mission. Tess Paje and the San Diego Premier Lions Club were sponsored this mission. Tess Paje paid for all the laboratory tests that has to be done in order for the indigents to have their surgeries-- Thank you Lion Tess
EyeCare WeCare Foundation's partner "Resources for the Blind" also participated in the surgeries and will follow up and return in February and complete all the surgeries----------15 cataract surgeries, one Pterygium and one eyelid cyst were removed during the clinics. Dr Ralph Asuncion's skillful hands remove the existing lens with the cataract and afterword replaces it with one of the many Inter ocular Lenses and all the surgical supplies that were provided by Bausch & Lomb Foundation
Dr. Asuncion moves from patient to patient as his assistants help hand him the sterile instruments
Patients that were screened by Dr. Weyrich during his examination at their venue are waiting their turn to see Dr. Asuncion and have their cataracts removed and a new inter ocular lens put to replace their lenses all for free
For these individuals and 24 others, this was a life changing experience. There were 10 additional surgeries performed by Resources for the Blind on January 28, 201 to bring the running total to 33 Cataract surgeries.
